It was a beautiful day to open our Fall Season, and the Wellington-Waterloo Hunt turned out in force to celebrate it. Riders and ground help alike came out in healthy numbers, and from the first cast the energy was unmistakable — hounds keen for the scent, riders equally keen to follow, and smiles all around.
Our Huntsman and hounds were on top form, holding the scent from start to finish. Our Whipper-Ins kept a vigilant eye throughout, making sure the field ran smoothly and safely.
Following the Hunt, members and guests gathered for a splendid breakfast.
Thank you to the van Lenthe Family for providing the mains and hosting the breakfast to the members who rounded things out with complimentary sides.
None of this happens without the work that goes on behind the scenes.
Thank you to Kris and Judy for planning the hunt, liaising with landowners, and checking the land beforehand; to Judy for preparing the map and the scent; to our landowners for opening their fields to us; to Robin and Hunter, and collecting and hauling the hounds. And to Katherine for managing and the hounds before and after the Hunt.
